Our joint Career Event with the Austrian Business Agency in Vienna welcomed a full house of students eager to learn about their professional opportunities in Austria.
The Austrian Business Agency (ABA), part of the Austrian Ministry for Labor and Economy, offers free-of-charge support and information for international students and graduates at Austrian universities who want to stay and work in the country. Thanks to their expertise, our students had the chance to discover the next steps for working while studying, doing a traineeship, or entering a full-time job after graduation.
Dr. Serge Sych, Pro-Rector for Stakeholder Engagement at IBS, kicked off the event with inspiring opening remarks, setting the stage for an impactful session. Angelika Koepf, the Key Account Manager for International Students at ABA, delivered a dynamic presentation, shedding light on career paths and legal requirements for international students and graduates aspiring to work in Austria.
As our promising collaboration with ABA continues, we are excited and committed to expanding our career support for students in Vienna, marking a new chapter in fostering student success in the local labor market.
Following the Career Event, IBS hosted a lively Alumni Happy Hour near campus, where some of our former students had the chance to connect with Serge, as well as fellow alumni in their vicinity. Alumni from across the globe came together, representing diverse graduation years—from 2007 to recent graduates—all united by their shared experiences at IBS.
Attendees included alumni from both the Vienna and Budapest campuses, many now thriving in the financial sector. The event was filled with energy as participants reconnected, networked, and explored the idea of establishing an IBS Alumni Hub in Vienna.
