During the half-day event, 19 strategic partners of IBS opened consultation desks for students and alumni. In their feedback, the company representatives highlighted the visitors’ high level of motivation and readiness, which – as they say - are exceptional in the Hungarian higher education market. Lively discussions and exuberant handshakes also reflected the parties' contentment.
Andrea Hajdu, Head of Business Network Centre and Career Office noted that almost all of the companies were returning exhibitors. Not only were they pleased with the students whom they had previously hired, but they also appreciated and enjoyed the atmosphere of the fair at IBS’ campus. “Students tend to come well-prepared, raise relevant questions, and bring along their professional CVs”, one participant noted.
Unlike other job fairs hosted at universities or event halls, exhibiting at IBS’ job fair is completely free for businesses. This enables the Career Office to select among potential exhibitors, making sure they invite only the very best and most suitable potential employers for IBS’s bright talents.
The Career Office assists international and Hungarian students with career and CV guidance, but IBS also has its own career platform TalentNet, which incorporates a resume-generating function.
Exhibiting companies also value the fact that IBS hosts this business networking event on its beautiful campus. This way the exhibitors can have an insight into the pleasant ambience there, while students feel more at ease and brave during the discussions.
In many cases, the representatives who showcase their companies are former IBS students themselves too. They happily return to their alma mater to speak about the business culture and workflow at their current employer.
Opportunities for contact between potential employers and IBS students are not limited to the job fair: throughout the academic year, IBS’ strategic partners can introduce themselves to students online, or in small workshops. Furthermore, Talent.Net also displays a brief introduction about our partners.
IBS will host its next on-campus job fair in the fall, most likely in October.
