Please click on your programme at the bottom of this page to find further enrolment details.

Feel free to contact us at info@ibsbudapest.com if something is not clear.

STUDY MODE

IBS will launch all programmes where the student numbers are sufficient with face-to-face classes and will normally also offer an online study option only for those who wish to study fully online or whose visas are delayed. You will be required to indicate your preference in your online IBS application.

You will be informed whether face-to-face classes are available on your programme by the Centre for Student Services after enrolment by email.

Please note that the tuition fees are the same in all study modes.

ENROLMENT INFORMATION

Enrolment is an administrative event, conducted in person or online, where, after checking the original copy of all your key documents, a Contract of Education is signed, whereby you officially become an active student of IBS.

Please check the enrolment period on our website here.

A. In-person enrolment:
Students who do not need a visa or receive a study visa by 1st September must enrol in person. To enrol, please come to the Centre for Student Services on the Campus during opening hours (9-12 a.m. and 1-3 p.m. every weekday except Friday afternoons).

When enrolling in person, please bring all original documents and certificates with you – you will not be able to enrol without presenting them on the spot.

B. Online enrolment:
Those non-EU students who do not receive their study visa by 1st September must enrol online. To enrol online please email studentadmin@ibs-b.hu to get an appointment from the Centre for Student Services for your online enrolment.

Online enrolment is a video chat where you have to present your original documents and sign the contract of education in front of the camera.

Please do not forget to bring with you to enrolment the original copy of all required documents and certificates, including the ones that you uploaded to your online application profile – you will not be able to enrol without presenting them on the spot.

FACE-TO-FACE CLASSES

If your programme is offered with face-to-face classes but your visa is delayed, you will be required to study temporarily online. Upon arrival on campus you may switch to face-to-face classes, however, if you arrive later than 1 month after the starting date of the semester, you will have to complete the rest of the semester online.

VISA ISSUES

Currently the Hungarian consulates are overcrowded due to a large demand for studies in Hungary. Because of this, several consulates may not be able to offer you an appointment for a visa interview in time for you to arrive in Hungary before the start of the semester.

To provide our students with as much flexibility as possible, we are offering all IBS applicants the following solution:

IBS applicants who do not receive their visas in time are allowed to start their studies online from September 2024 and complete the entire first semester online if necessary. They can submit their visa application whenever they receive an appointment from the Consulate, and they will be able to travel to Hungary any time after receiving their visa.

This allows you to have more options for interview appointments and travel dates. If your visa is denied, until the end of the semester (31 January 2025) you are entitled to a FULL REFUND (with the exception of EUR 400) on condition that you have participated in online classes, activities and assessments as required, to the best of your ability.

REFUND POLICY

  • Once you have received the admission certificates of IBS for the visa application, you are entitled for a refund only if your visa is refused and you email the visa refusal document to IBS. No other excuse for claiming a refund is accepted.
  • Once you have enrolled, participation in classes, activities and assessments as required to the best of your ability becomes a condition of getting a refund or a permission for deferral.
  • In case your visa is granted, we CANNOT refund you the tuition fee and the registration fee in any circumstances.
  • If your visa is rejected and you have not enrolled yet, EUR 400 from your payment is non-refundable, the rest will be refunded.
  • If your visa is rejected and you have already enrolled, you may reclaim the full amount of your paid fees with the exception of EUR 400 up to 31 January 2025 on condition that you have attended classes and submitted all your assignments online as required by the programme regulations until the date of your visa refusal. Instead of a refund, you may request deferral to the next intake with the same conditions. EUR 400 will be charged for your first semester even if deferral is granted.
  • If you have enrolled but do not receive the visa decision up to 31 January 2025, you can ask IBS to defer you to the next intake on condition that you have attended classes and submitted all your assignments online as required by the programme regulations, but EUR 400 will still be charged for your first semester

If you have arrived in Hungary but regularly fail to show up on your classes, your student status and your residence permit will be suspended. In this case you will be asked to leave the country within 8 days and your tuition fee and registration fee will NOT be refunded.

If you decide to leave Hungary or to transfer to another institution, the tuition fee and the registration fee will NOT be refunded.

Please note that no refunds are available after the last day of the semester’s teaching period.

Please note that we can refund the fee only to the same bank account that you transferred it from due to strict financial regulations!

Please buy health insurance in your home country that is valid for 30 days upon entering Hungary.
