The 2024 Fall semester’s Job Fair was a remarkable success, drawing hundreds of students. With every seat filled and all the desks buzzing, the atmosphere reflected the enthusiasm and ambition of the IBS community. This semester, 23 top employers set up booths, eager to meet talented students and discuss potential career opportunities across a variety of sectors.
Feedback from our exhibitors was overwhelmingly positive. Many employers praised the students for their level of preparedness and their impressive ability to ask insightful questions, demonstrating a thorough understanding of the industries they are entering. This level of engagement reflects the quality of education that IBS provides, as well as the support provided by the careers and alumni team, equipping students with the skills necessary to stand out in a competitive job market.
A particularly rewarding aspect of this year’s fair was the presence of IBS alumni, who returned to share their experiences and insights with current students. Welcoming them back to campus, wearing their newly introduced IBS alumni badges fostered a sense of community and offered students a firsthand look at the diverse career trajectories available to them. Seeing alumni actively engaged in the fair helped illustrate the real-world applications of their education and inspired students to be more engaged.
And engaged they were. Not only did they describe the event as “an enriching and transformative experience” that helped them clarify their career objectives, but they also shared their stories with the community as part of the “My Job Fair” competition. Students with the best testimonials will have a chance to win an exclusive career discovery session with a senior career advisor or distinguished alum.
